Hunting Report: May 17, 2006

This year we had 17 hunters with 100% success rate. They all weighed from 19.9 pounds to 26 pounds. One big tom had 5 beards. A hunter from Pennsylvania shot him his first day of hunting. All hunters but one shot their toms on first day outings, and the other hunter shot his the second morning.

There were hundreds of turkeys on all five of our separate hunting areas this spring. We spread out the hunting to one area per group, this way we are assure of no over hunting on any one area. Managing these areas in such away we are able to make sure we are able to offer season after season quality hunting grounds. This is one of the many reasons we are continually visited by hunters from all over the country, and why they look to Rock Creek for the top hunt results.
